WhatsApp disables video and audio file downloads and keeps images download enabled by default, while connecting to data network. If you want better control on Whatsapp on such settings or disable the images too and reduce unnecessary data usage on mobile data, then you should go through the following steps –
- Install and launch the application on your Smartphone.
- Go through ‘Chat Settings’ and then ‘Settings’.
- Tap on ‘Media auto download’ and then ‘when using mobile data’.
- Uncheck all the image included or change settings according to you.
For Wi-Fi and roaming, you can also go through the above steps to change settings. When on roaming or mobile data connectivity, you can also disable the automatic download. For flawless communication, remember that Whatsapp automatically download voice messages automatically. So, you should disable mobile data manually when not required. It can also save the battery life of your mobile device as well as data usage.
