Dear Ingo Lamp
“Ron Gilads hybrid objects combine material with aesthetic play; they sit on the fat delicious line between the abstract and the functional.” The Ingo is like Steam Punk without the gears. It’s, fluid, whimsical, and intellectual while maintaining an urban industrial feel that would be at home in any office, or at least most. Created in New York by Ron Giland, the Ingo begs to be used as a conversation piece or over an operating table… fill its 16 articulating arms with 100w bulbs and any surgeon will agree. Crafted from powder coated steel, the Ingo is a permanent fixture (pun intended) of the Art Institute of Chicago. If you’d like to own and Ingo of your own, you can choose any color you want as long as you want black or white.
